APPLY WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH IN SHIPYARD (GENERAL TRADE)

The AWSHS is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers working in the shipbuilding and ship repairing industry.

ASSUMED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ENTRY REQIUREMENT :

Participant must be able to read, write and speak in the language in which the course is conducted.

COURSE OVERVIEW :

• Understand legal obligations in workplace safety and health.
• Identify hazards in a shipyard.
• Recognize all types of industrial safety signs.
• Understand application process for safety permit prior to hot work.
• Competent in wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Know and take safety precautions when working with different hazards.
• Able to respond in case of fire or emergency.

• 8 hours including 1 hours of assessment

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION : English.

CLASS SIZE : Maximum 40

FACILITATOR / LEARNER RATIO : 1:40 for Theory Lesson & Assessment

COURSE ATTENDENCE  : 100% Attendance

ASSESSMENT ADVICE :

1-hour of written assessment with 40 multiple choice questions (MCQ) test. The passing mark for the written assessment is 60%. Failure to pass the assessments shall render a “Fail” outcome for the learner and he must then re-attempt the course and assessments.

CERTIFICATION :

• Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) and a Safety Pass from Ensure Safe Consultancy Pte. Ltd. will be awarded to the trainee.

Attendance 100% / Written Assessment 70% / Practical Assessment – Competent
